1) Completely rebuilt libraries of mechanical parts have been added, and a brand new, larger library with more than 85,000 parts is also available. This is a result of the long-term work to make the libraries much more accurate and compatible with other CAD programs. The existing parts have also been expanded to improve the ease of use of the part libraries and to accommodate additional new part types. Users can download the new libraries by registration on VariCAD’s website.

2) A completely rebuilt design interface with a more robust 2D drawing tool has been included. There are a number of new custom building blocks available to the user. The new 2D graphics contains a variety of new primitives. All of these new primitives and parts are included in the library, so users can make a new construction project from a blank sheet of paper.

3) A new robust user interface has been included. Many changes have been made to the main interface, the drawing canvas and the taskbar. The new interface is much easier to use and provides a large number of new keystroke macros, which are now also accessible from the new 2D drawing tool. The new design interface can be configured using the VariCAD preferences.

4) There have been some additional changes and improvements to the construction process. The drawing, layout and assembly tools can now be made a lot quicker when working on complex projects.

5) The power of the program has also been increased. Therefore, many long loading times can be expected. If necessary, the ZBI module can be disabled by going to the Tools->Modules->Customize. – –>

We have added a new feature for square, the possibility to generate the coordinate system by right-click on the end corner of the square. Also the size of this area can be adjusted in the tool bar. After all, VariCAD now allows working with other shapes (boxes, circles, ellipses, rectangles, and others) and the polylines. You can also add tangents to the curves to generate a smooth shape. To do this, first the tangent vector is generated, and a new string parameter is introduced to create the curve.

The following new features are available in VariCAD 2019-2.0:
The new update contains a new button in 3D Preview window to open a dialog for defining orientation. You can set the rotation of the axes of the window, click on a virtual mouse wheel to change the camera point, and rotate the window by mouse dragging around the plot area.
The new version of VariCAD contains manual generation of 2D sketches. For this, there is a button in the Sketch tool window, which brings up a dialog where you can choose the type of points from which you want to create the sketch. In a dialog box, there are hints for use of tools for illustration of geometry.
If a part is extracted from a solid (such as a pin from a washer), you can now format it in the format of a name, part number, style, and so on. It can be saved for future use.
There is an improved layering of solids. For example, you can now directly draw a new solid on the top of a solid that you created manually. Such solids are not the product of operations, and have new dialog options for editing.
The new release has improved 3D input and output, so, for example, you can now save a *.x, *.y, *.z, *.tx, *.ty, and *.tz, (the data for body) files from in the Save option of Structure dialog. These files can be used in a software package to save the model in various formats.

VariCAD Portable can also create developed (unbent) surfaces of 3D solids or sheet metal parts. The XY coordinates of developed surfaces can be saved into a text file for further processing. You can input bending coefficients in order to customize your calculations, to reflect material and technology. You can model such well-known parts as nuts, bolts, plug-pins, washers, etc.

As with any new release, the new version of VariCAD will be available in several languages. It is a full English translation. This version also has Polish, Russian and Serbo-Croatian translations.

New Update Released on August 10th, 2019.
Additional scripts have been written to handle the new version of VariCAD and you can now use these to update your application.
If you don’t want to reinstall the application, simply follow the steps below to add the update script to the command line.

VariCAD-22.0 will be released as a standalone installer or VSphere-compatible installation as a patch file. You will also be able to install VariCAD v2.02 and previous versions of VariCAD v2.x as you would any other version of Lifetime VariCAD v2 Version.0.
The standalone installer (v22.0) is a full English translation of VariCAD v2.02 and includes many fixes made in both the Windows and Mac versions of VariCAD v2.0. The installer will be installed directly to your computer’s C: drive.
The patch installer (v22.0-patch) will be an installer for VariCAD v2.02 that patches the executable files with a patch file for VariCAD v2.0.
The patch is an automatic install process that will update existing VariCAD v2.02 installations by patching the executable files with the patch file.
An “upgrade” patch will be released later that patches the executable files for VariCAD v2.0 in order to get it into the same network download location as the standalone installer or the patch installer.
