Waterfox has a few enhancements over the previous version:

• Mozilla’s WebExtensions allow a website to run in a Sandboxed environment, which increases security.
• The page tabs have been moved into their own bar above the URL box.

Clicking on a link in any modern email program, or in any modern Web browser, will present a New Window/Tab, bypassing the current window or tab, and going to the website using the new window. This is rarely used in browsers that were not designed to function this way; Waterfox is one such browser.
If the links do not open in a new window/tab, Waterfox will attempt to open them in the current window/tab, but if they are known to not work in that way, then it will use a new one, similar to how Internet Explorer 11 will use a new tab if the link is a trusted one. If the link has a specific, known website of its own, Waterfox will automatically open that in a New Window/Tab. Waterfox’s behavior is the only known browser to use this method for links and only for links; all other programs use the same, standard “create a new, stand-alone window” behavior for links.

My first experience with Waterfox was a while ago when it was first released. I didn’t like the idea of a browser that actually shuts off your trackers. You get to take control of your privacy, and then Mozilla releases a crappy version of the browser, that’s what stopped me from using Mozilla products once again. Waterfox fixes this issue.

Waterfox comes with many other new features not found on chrome. It comes with the ability to install it on multiple versions of firefox. It comes with easy upgrades to the latest version of Firefox. It comes with ad and tracker blocking built in. It also has a history of fixes and improvements.

I’ve used Chrome in the past for years, like months. I liked it’s performance but it was very buggy. I downloaded waterfox thinking it would be better since I was so used to mozilla products. What a mistake. The UI is completely different, I had to adjust to it. It wasnt that bad until there were lots of bugs. I couldn’t find most of them because the print icon wasn’t working. It looked at me like I’m an idiot. Also, the page loading seems to be slower in waterfox than chromium. Other than that, everything is working fine on my PC.

I just like it because it is fast. Its designed to be more stable and less prone to crashes or random freezes. Also, I had gotten used to Firefox’s interface and layout. I had gotten used to customization of my toolbar as well. With Waterfox, I just get to keep my favorite customizations.

The one problem you must keep in mind, and it is a big one, is that because Waterfox is based on the original Firefox code, it has all the bugs from the version you are using. On the plus side, it is incredibly easy to use since all your browser’s tabs are still there. Others, however, may find that they are missing some add-ons that they used to have.
