I’ve been using Winaero Tweaker Pro on my Windows 7 home premium 64 bit computer for a long time and I am very happy with it. However, it says that I need to uninstall it before installing its new version. I thought it was just one more update to the program which I already have. So how can I uninstall this version without breaking my work I did in Winaero Tweaker?

Hey, I’ve downloaded and installed Winaero Tweaker, but every time i want to start a new tweak, I have to install again on the same place (what is huge if you ask me), and i don’t want to uninstall it after every start. How can I change the installation directory and how can I make it, that I have the old version after an update. Cheers

Replaced Tweaker with a Win 10 version of TweakUI, and again I’m missing some key features, like being able to change the titlebar colors (on Windows 10). So I installed the TweakUI app, found the old Tweaker, and now I have an old, and an updated version of TweakUI installed on my system…I’ll get to work on some of the missing features when I have time. The application does what is does and it is legal for use. However, I want to register my dissatisfaction with Win 10 Tweaker. I will not be receiving updates, and I want to create a post on Win 10 Tweaker. I have already registered my complaint on the ReadMe file included in Win 10 Tweaker.

I have repeated my finding from the last version. When running the Tweaker in windowed mode, it gets stuck when the user tries to navigate away from the window and will not be available when the user clicks OK to close. If they do navigate away, they will have to kill the process by clicking the little Windows Taskkill symbol to terminate the Tweaker. I believe that the reason for this is the Tweaker hanging onto the Keyboard and Mouse when no keyboard or mouse input is detected. When a mouse is detected, the focus is restored to the Tweaker. When the user navigates away from the window and clicks OK to close the Tweaker, the focus is restored to the window instead of being moved to the Tweaker. Then, no input is detected so it restarts. Hopefully this change to the UpdateCheck, combined with a notification to the user that the Tweaker has been disabled in the Startup window, will be sufficient to solve the problem.

There are still a lot of changes left to be made to it, and we are already looking at add-ons to the Tweaker. I think it deserves a much larger audience than it has now, and we should see some truly unique shapes come from it. As time and new ideas allow, I hope to post about our progress on the Tweaker. We also have some great news about the Tweaker 2.0 release and start up process, which will likely be ready and posted for public review next month or sooner.

I am running your updated Tweaker on the same install of Windows 10 with the same tweaks as before and it seems to work just fine. There is nothing really different about your Tweaker when compared to mine. You can turn your “show File Explorer options” on and off to see the changes. I have noticed you have located the windows settings area on the side instead of at the bottom like previous, sorry I can’t find a button for that.
